The Prince's Court Empty The Prince's Court

Can I ask for some more detail on the Court of Prince Nadal? How is it setup? Who are usually present?

Is it like a medival court, where the Prince is in the high seat equivalent of a throne and flanked by his advisers and members of the court come forward with petitions? Or a modern boardroom style setup?

Also, what is the proper way of introducing the prince? Any additional titles we should be aware about?

I ask for purposes of reference in the future for any scenes involving the court. Thank you.

The Prince's Court Empty Re: The Prince's Court

When the Prince actually holds court, it is usually in a theater kind of setup, so there's not so much a dais where the Prince sits as a stage that sets him higher than the rest. Other members of the Court are invited up on the stage, and usually the Sheriff and a few of the Primogen take advantage of that. The Harpy, Scourge, and Deputies usually stick to the crowd.

Anyone with petitions better be up on their Etiquette as to when to present them, but the actual presenting is done from the floor - literally. Motions are debated by popular acclaim, and whispered gossip, and decided by the Prince alone.

The Harpy usually announces the Prince, and the titles have a way of changing every time he's announced. They have a funny way of always being true, however. If you want more details on this, let me know and I'll embellish a bit.

If court is held, it is infrequent, and ample warning will be given, never fear.

By way of reference, now that I see the thread you're referring to, heading into Elysium (which is not where "court" is held), you can expect to find the Harpy talking to kine and kindred alike. He knows everyone in the domain, and it's easy to see why.

Sometimes present is the Scourge. She often consults with the Harpy to see if there are un-presented kindred stupid enough to slum through Elysium.

Anyone having business with the Harpy can be found here. The Sheriff is never found here. It's alleged that he's never been in Elysium before. The Nosferatu Primogen is rarely there. The Toreador Primogen is almost never there. The Ventrue Primogen is usually there. The Gangrel Primogen is never there. The Malkavian Primogen is sometimes there, but hasn't been there recently. The Assamite Primogen is there a fair amount. The Brujah Primogen is never there.

Anyone else? Lemme know, I'll tell you.

When arranging for a presentation to the Prince of new kindred, I am assuming he arrange something with the keeper correct? Would the actual presentation be a public or a private thing? That part wasn't so clear when we last spoke.

Private meetings with the Prince are arranged through the Seneschal.

The Prince also has a tradition of weekly public meetings on Sunday morning from 12am to 1am. Anyone can find him in Elysium between those hours, sometimes with the Harpy and/or Scourge.
